The exhibition OPERATION “HOUSE-2” (D-Day) by Moscow artists Natalia Abalakova & Anatoly Zhigalov (TOTART) is dedicated to the 20 anniversary of the First Performance festival which was initiated by the artists and had taken place in the village of Pogorelovo in 1981. This exhibition has two dimensions: those are objects and “graphics” (sheets of black paper – the remnants of performance BLACK CUBE, 1980, and actions, realized and not realized during the Festival of 1981 – THE LADDER and THE LAST ACTION), the dumb witnesses of the real events which accumulated energy, memory and oblivion, and videostory about the village of Pogorelovo (THE HOUSE, Sergey Kovalsky, 1991) and another video film about the meeting of the artists-participants of the First festival twenty years later in 2001; in the computer the users can see scanned photos of this Festival and read “The Great Russian Text” (TOTART videoperformance FOUR COLUMNS OF VIGILANCE, 2000).
